WHAT IS BALLROOM?
The DEEP INSIDE Kiki Ball takes place within the Ballroom Community, which has its origins in the Afro- and Latin-American trans, drag, and LGBTQIA* community of the 1960s and 1970s in New York. Ballroom serves primarily as a space for empowerment and as a survival mechanism to amplify the visibility of marginalized groups who continue to face daily challenges related to racism, homophobia, and transphobia. It functions as both a cultural hub and a community space, particularly providing support and representation for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and queer individuals.

WHAT IS BALL?
The Ball incorporates elements of a Fashion Show, featuring a central runway with judges at one end and the audience on both sides, cheering for the competitors. Participants compete in various categories including dancing (performance), beauty and fashion, each taking turns to showcase their skills and style on the runway. The competition continues until each participant in the category has completed their performance. Winners are typically awarded trophies or other prizes. While Voguing is one of the dance styles featured, the Ballroom encompasses a wide range of categories including Fashion & Beauty, among others.

For spectators: You can choose any reference for outfits for any category. Spectators are allowed to compete in the category "Best Overall Look OTA."

RULES AND CONDITIONS
  • The event will take place in the shelter, so in case of an air alarm, all guests will be safe and can remain inside the event venue.
  • This event is for individuals aged 18 and above. Attendance by individuals under 18 is possible only if accompanied by parents or a person who has authorization to care for a minor. In the absence of appropriate documents, security reserves the right to deny entry to the event, even if a ticket has been purchased.
  • We respect the comfort of our guests and provide a safe space for self-expression. In the event of disrespect towards our values, organizers have the right to refuse entry to the event and/or remove individuals who have shown disrespect without the right to a refund for the event.
  • In case of a rescheduling of the event date, all tickets remain valid for the new date and ticket costs are non-refundable. In case of event cancellation, ticket costs will be fully refunded.
  • Event organizers are not responsible for the personal belongings of guests.
  • The venue will not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, national origin, genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, gender (including gender identity and expression) or any other characteristic.
  • This event will be recorded, and photo/video materials will be used on social media and other internet resources.
